The Chinese football club Shanghai Shenhua has achieved a significant breakthrough with the signing of Argentine forward Pablo Moreno. The 26-year-old is expected to bring new life and energy to the team, who have struggled for form in recent seasons.
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Moreno began his career at hometown club Racing Club before moving on to River Plate. He made his debut for the latter side in 2014, scoring four goals in just 18 appearances. His performances caught the eye of several European clubs, including Spanish giants Real Madrid and Juventus.
However, Moreno opted to return to Argentina after failing to break into the first-team, joining Boca Juniors in 2017. After two years, he moved to another top-flight club,Serie A News Flash Velez Sarsfield, where he scored 15 goals in 39 appearances.
In January 2020, Moreno signed for Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande, where he enjoyed a successful campaign as they won the league title. However, injuries limited him to only 11 appearances during the season, and he was released by the club in December.
Despite this setback, Moreno remains highly regarded in the world of football, having previously been named in the FIFA World Player Under-20 tournament squad and being part of the Argentina national team. With his experience and skill set, Moreno could make a big impact at Shanghai Shenhua and help the team challenge for silverware this season.
